Reviews for "Rudy P. - Fun with Poizone"

rockin.

A few beats per minute short of drum and bass but it's not like newgrounds has a break beat section anyways. Nice bass sir. I felt like it was a tad too dirty at some places because I thought it was clipping but when I checked your song file in audacity, there really wasn't much clipping going on. Also, the more I listened the better it sounded. Music has a tendency to do that.

The kit sounds a bit dry, but drums aren't something I'm good at so we'll just leave that review for someone else. Over all, really great job man. I'm gonna have to check out some more of your stuff.

Fuiste responds:

Haha, good luck looking into my older catalog... You won't find much. Until recently I was working with strictly FL Core, which I guess has taught me how to better work with simpler synths like 3xosc, but up until recently my music wasn't much different from all the other NG detritus (Not that all NG music is bad, there's just a lot of people here that don't have a good understanding of music.).

But back to your review, I'm really glad you liked the song! I think part of the reasong the drums are so dry sounding is that the bass, while heavy as fuck, is in a similar frequency to the kick, which robs it of a lot of low end thump. I also agree that this is not DnB in the slightest, but seeing as breakbeat is a fairly close relative to DnB I put it here.

Thanks for droppin' me a review, always appreciated!

Incredible

Immediately, this song captured me. Like, it really picks up and feels epic (like Foraum said, the pause at :07 was a key part). I can't make anything sound this cool with Poizone. Good work =)

Fuiste responds:

Try experimenting with cutoff filter LFO's and lowpass filters, then throw a fast-dist and a limiter on top of the poizone. That's how I came up with this one.

But anyways, thanks much for the review, it's greatly appreciated, and I'm glad you liked the song.

Cheers.

Impressive

Right from the pause at 00:07 (nice touch btw) I was hooked. The bass is ridiculously cool. Fine job there. This song so makes me wanna check out poizone. While listening to your song I checked out their website and downloaded the demo version. Gonna check it out today so who knows, maybe I'll be making a poizone "infused" song someday soon too.

Back to your song: what can I say, it's damn near perfect. Really. The bass automation effects make this song shine, the variation is superb. Really like the part at 02:40. Setting up an ending like that, sick really! I'm hooked man. Downloaded, 5/5, 10/10

And a big thumbs up to you!

Fuiste responds:

Glad I got someone else to look at this synth, and really glad you liked the song. The trick to basses like this is adding in distortion AFTER a low pass filter LFO.

Once again, thanks much for the review!
