Ok.. you asked for some suggestions, and Ill give you some. First of all, we willl work on the sound. I agree with some of the previous reviews. If you added sounds for the sword men, and some background music (soft though) it would be nice. In order to prevent it from scratching out the speakers and being repetitive, you could set a max to the amount of times it would play, and possible even play it once every 2 attacks instead of every one. However, that might require difficult actionscripting, and might be impossible.

Ok, now onto graphics. The graphics for the castle and for the people was good in my opinion. The simplicity of the people made it much easier on the eyes, and the castle was well drawn. However, the background was boring, (not so much the sky, but the land) and you may want to add variation to the land in future levels. (ie level one, pretty grass, level 20, a hellish looking place with rocky outcroppings and a red sky and lightning) this may take up more memory, but I think it would be worth it. The other thing is the desctruction of the castle. The addition of scribbles as it gets more and more ruined wouldnt look half as good as actual new images.. Also in this case too, variation would be nice. If the castle image changed with the level. Well that would greatly improve the game. Again this may be difficult because of memory restrictions, but I trust you can overcome any problems.

3. Plot. You may want to add a story line, make it some sort of campaighn, and have a limited amount of levels. add some cinematics, and some sort of intruige. This could open new doors and allow minigames, invading a military encampment, burning and pillaging, and some other interesting modes of play. This would make the game much more fun, and much more replayable. You might not have to succeed at every mission to make it on to the next, and at the end, your rate of success might give you a rank.

4. Here I will give ideas to the basic game itself and how to improve what you have given us. In my opinion lots of reviewers and yourself were right. The boiling water... is unbalanced. However, I like the idea that it kills multiple people, since it adds some strategy to the game. I would make it kill 3-5 people at a time though instead of all of them. Maybe even randomize the amount it kills. That and also make it fire more slowly. These changes will help to balance out the boiling water without removing its usefulness. problem #2. test the game many times, and make sure you give the player just enough money each time instead of completely encumbering them with so much money they have no idea what to do with it all. problem #3 overpowered infantry and archers. first of all, I agree that you should not affect their speeds with the upgrades, but instead affect only there power.
Second of all, if you show the level of upgrade your guys have that would be nice, and finally, max out the upgrades. That way you can see that your archers are at level 6 upgrade, and by lvl 10 you cant upgrade them any more. Also you may want to increase the price with each upgrad. and it would be cool if you changed the graphic with each upgrade too! problem # 3.Now.. balancing the effect of archers vs warriors. Obviously archers are much more powerful than warriors, therefore making warriors useless. One way to balance them has been accomplished already. Making archers more expensive. In my opinion there are some quick and easy ways to make warriors useful. 1. Make the archers less powerful than the warriors, so the warriors can take down the castle quicker. two tone down the water (already discussed). 3. make an option where you can have the warriors act as meat shields for the archers, and take the arrow hit instead of the archers... There are some other ways you could do this but these are discussed in additions for v2. Problem #4. saving and loading. Its a good idea... and works pretty well.. but you seem to lose all your upgrades. Somehow fix this.

tha only thing i coul;d say is maybe try to have the arrows and watter come out a little slower. Other than that great start keep up the good work hope to see some more.
