Great

this is the best trade rpg ive ever played

Well...

I'm not a big fan of the "trade RPG"... I think they're a bit too slow, and the storyline doesn't flow well. But this isn't that bad for an online game I guess. Maybe if you could figure out how to make it multiplayer, it'd be better. Whatever. Anyway... I guess decent for it's type. Just not MY type.

Fun game, but...

I really enjoyed this game, but I think the combat should have been streamlined. It gets really annoying to sit through that little attack animation over and over again. That, and is it me or is paying the protection money absolutely useless?

Other than those two little things, though, this game's really fun. One of the better games I've seen here on NG.

flaws

if you look at the image of Meing Kahn, his right horn hasn't been fully colored in. and then if you talk to him when he wishes to protect your trade routes, the sentence is incomplete.

"As you know, my fleet protects your trade routes. It would be appreciated if you would donate $450.00 to" to what??

Reminds me of Halo2...

How so?
It plays off the success and high quality of its predecessor, giving you new and interesting features, improving the graphical quality, and adding some more "story" to the game, it also leaves you wanting a whole lot more, the combat is nothing less than annoying (see: violence rating), and this game seems to want you to be very annoyed, especially when you're flying around in a Frieghter: B-Class, I literally had 280/300 cargo spaces alloted to quadcannons just so I could survive shipping common goods :|.
That aside, I thought the revamp was nice in that the gameplay style was simply and easy to get into, the sound (though still hellish) was improved, and the in-game trade system was, at least in my opinion excellent.
Going back to the violence rating, I was tempted to give this game a humor rating of 1, in that I figured (and maybe I'm thinking too much here) that since the Kahn's cousin runs the Der'Khul pirate Guild... maybe you wouldn't be getting tailgated by little retards in space suits so often? I mean, since you *ARE* her ally after all, All in all a solid game, good job despite the flaws.
