Reviews for "Pixelville Pensioners"

Almost there

You're on the right track with this game
It's a tad boring after awhile, but your idea is definitely worth sticking to

see what else you can do with it

Der, u hav just ben reveewed by a ~D_U_M_B_A_S_S

gavD responds:

Thanks man. It's an engine based game, so technically it can be anything.

Ps I don't like your username very much.

an original idea

I guess a cute little style of a new game. It is definately unique and the pixelated black character remidns me of somehting SNES or old Nintendo. But building homes for old pensioners? Hmm not a very good storyline.
Graphcis were cute (maybe TOO cute) but the colours were generally on the whole bland and the characters wernt detailed enough. Game was ok but it got pretty hard and boring after a while (because just pointing and clicking does NOT make a game - in fact these are probably the worst because there is hardly any interactivity) , and it was dissapointing that really the only sound was the music - where are the sound effects? I suggest making better graphcis with more detail, either that or keep the cute style but dont make it look so bland and boring and add some sound into this. And go mad, use your style to its advantage and make this one darn good crazy game! :D

Hi Tiger,

Thanks for the review!

There are some sound effects - well, just one really - whenever you solve a puzzle, you get a sound effect.

I see from your profile that you're 14 right now - the sprites for this game were all made before you were born! They're from the ZX Spectrum. It can only do 2 colours per 8x8 grid. I've remained faithful to the machine's pallete - it can only do 8 colours!

I feel old now... I'm 24...

cool adventure game.

Navigating is a bit awkward, but I'd say you did a great job of creating an adventure game. Great choice of music.

gavD responds:

Thanks!

The music is from the incredible Samba Lucas - we play in a band that gigs around Cardiff.

I LOVE IT!

You have truly created something awesome here. What more can I say? You have 8-bit graphics but still get a score of 10 on them, that's how good this is.

gavD responds:

Thankyou! I can see you're a conneisseur of the 8-bit vintage!

i liked

this is a really good game, i thought the graphics needed a little work, i couldn't leave the town hall office though.. i don't know why.

gavD responds:

Thanks dude!

You can leave the town hall by clicking at the bottom of the screen - hope that helps!
