I don't think this is a rip-off of 8-Bit at all. The "meat-shield" and Fighter's fascination with swords is the only borrowed ideas from that. Everything else about this is original.
The random violence in this is great. It's fun to watch all the health points being knocked off the characters. The entire thing was very well drawn. And the music really enhances the video.
I can see that you've come a long way since Ep. 2. The character styles look really good. I can see that you've got a lot of potential.

Ok so Im a total newb to newgrounds but I know a good flash when I see one! Its just wild! The meatshield line is simply class, and its just so funny. If I had to improve something, Id improve the Theif and White mage characters (eg make them say more) because they are just boring in the movie. I love the leader character of Red mage and I love the stupidity character of Fighter!

As you pointed out about hacking the game it woulda been funnier if u used a friend that had used hide from final fantasy 4 :P
