I don't think this is a rip-off of 8-Bit at all. The "meat-shield" and Fighter's fascination with swords is the only borrowed ideas from that. Everything else about this is original.
The random violence in this is great. It's fun to watch all the health points being knocked off the characters. The entire thing was very well drawn. And the music really enhances the video.
I can see that you've come a long way since Ep. 2. The character styles look really good. I can see that you've got a lot of potential.

But fuck it, I do it too! It was a bit slow...but the hand drawn action and lighting effects, as well as the humor, make up for many other things. Seing how far this has come since your #2 SE which i just saw tells me you have real potential to make good things happen on newgrounds.
I'd suggest making the characters to scale in the background more like you did at the end(and in the first one), and throw some real storyline exposition in there, and you have a real winner.
I laughed pretty hard, though.

but why the mega man music? and as any real final fantasy junkie knows, red mages and their derivatives (rydia, red mage crystal in FF5) are absolutely useless. now put a black belt in there, get some real multiple hit violence on, and you could kill as many black mages as you like, as well as chaos.
