Reviews for "MeZoni TriZoni"

is pretty great

nice start, directly to the song, has a nice rhythm what really make you want to jump the chair and dance around... all the effects are nice, the changes you add make me think that you were changing in time, getting beck to past, then a few year later ad then back again, it was a nice touch
i have to say the song is very long, was nice but i got a little tired of it at 3 min...
but when you add the girl voice was nice, it get your attention again, so was pretty awesome

GlueR responds:

Thanks for the review! Well, that's sort of what I was doing. I was mainly trying to mix styles together. I think it worked to some extend. There is a possibility that I will do an entire song as a "dance "cover to our other song (the female lyrics in the end), called "Ode to beer". But I'll have to get round to start it first.... :-)

Pretty good...

This song sounds like some of the 80s and R&B remixes. By creating it into dance, it's pretty cool. I love it. Cheers :)

GlueR responds:

Disco, R&B classical, blues combo! I get extra points for that! LOL!

Catchy but not a musical breakthrough

While i feel like i've heard it a million times, it still sounds good! Somehow i know this running through my head will keep me up tonight.

GlueR responds:

Thanks for the review! I tried to be somewhat more original in the second part, where the chord progression changes drastically, but I know what you mean. What can I say? I'm a sucker for retro music!

Quite enthralling

A nice piece, that's quite an intense experience - I can certainly see what you're getting at with regards to the way that the music envelops you within the tune and is quite an intense feeling for the whole performance.

I think that you might have considered giving us a bit of a bass solo to bring us back in from the amazing synth riff that you gave us towards the end of the piece. I can't really think of any other way to improve it, as the whole thing was a very well organised tune.

GlueR responds:

Thanks again for another great review! Hmmm... A bass solo... Well, that's definitely something I haven't tried yet. Come to think of it, even in things I haven't written myself. I've never been involved in any project with a bass solo. That's a good idea to ask the band to start thinking about it and we 'll see how it pans out (in new songs), trying not to make it sound too Mannowar-ish...

Daft Punk-ish

Those robot voices really remind me of Daft Punk. Also, the funky intro seems to be heavily influenced by them.

Anyway, I like this song, it creates a happy atmosphere and sounds pretty unconventional. Sometimes it reminds me of some of the 90s dance tracks, the next second I recognize some 70s rock influence there (you know, those long-winded guitar and keyboard soli à la Deep Purple).

However, the main beat of the song stays almost the same nearly through the whole song. This gets boring after about 3 minutes.

GlueR responds:

Thanks for the review! You're right about the beat. Nothing does really change throughout the song, but you wouldn't have noticed it if everything else stayed the same throughout the song, as you would see in not so few dance tunes... ;-)
Anyways, I really should have programmed more drums into this, but at the time, I wasn't too proficient with writing realistic drum parts back then and to be totally honest, I didn't even have the patience to do it. You know, as a listener I'm not into beat oriented music, but I do appreciate some bands here and there, like Daft Punk, the Chemical Brothers etc, that put effort and artistic value into what they make, so if I'm influenced by anyone, it would be by them... And you're right about the rock part. But you didn't spot Vanessa Mae influence in the second part of the song... Hehe... This was really a blend of everything....
Cheers!
