Reviews for "Castlemania"

Not a bad first try!

Good Job Wario,
Being old, I really enjoy old 8-bit Castlevania games, so I may be biased on this one.
I really liked the choose your own adventure style choice near the end, and being able to start back from there was a wise programming decision. ( Simon would have whipped them though)
You should keep making Toons.
Tips for improvement.
Sprite base graphics being great and all. How about some nice art from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (one of the best ever!!) or Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (the other one!!)
Cut the scenes which are unnessicary, I thought I was watching someone play the NES there for a sec, which is kind of boring, unless its you playing the game.
The Music, even if you stick to the old school sprites, you shold really get some songs from the newer of the series.
Good Luck.

Well, thanxs for the advice Bewarewolf. I am currently making Castlemania 2: Training Day so I will take ur advice. Thanks again

Not bad for a first.

Pretty good. I liked the final boss....lol
Very funny idea.
I'll keep an eye out for more from you.

Not bad for a beginning.

I enjoyed your first sprite movie. Castlevania's good ! Also the music. But your movie is too slow. Passages between each screen are deadly boring, you should try to get'em faster. Next, maybe do more choices for us than this one, this will bring some cool things, I'm sure !
I really thought that your first movie was good !
Kepp it up !

Lots of promise, but nothing accomplished.

This movie didn't really accomplish much. We start with a scene of Simon walking into the castle. Then he walks some more. Then he walks up a flight of stairs. Then he walks some more. Then he jumps down, walks a bit, whips a ghoul, then does some more walking. So now we're already several minutes into the movie, and nothing of value has happened yet.

Then we come to the choice. Going downstairs causes Simon to be torn apart by mermen. Okay. That's something. Nothing new, but something. Going to the final boss causes Simon to meet Count Quackula, which would've been a surprise had the name not been in the title from the beginning. And then the movie ends. Yes, you've set things up for your next movie, but until I see that movie, I just feel like my time has been wasted.

I liked the visual style -- the word balloons and such. I liked the way killing that one ghoul looked. I think Simon's walk animation needs to be sped up, but whatever. His jumping is also kind of strange -- a couple of motion tweens doesn't look good. It's a good way to start, but you need to get in there and manually round it out.

This has promise, but make sure you don't waste your audience's time. Ask yourself what makes your movie worthwhile, what's going to be interesting, what's really necessary, then shave off everything else as much as you can.

Pretty good but could be better

It wasn't really that funny except for Count Quackula and there was barly any violence
