1283 Layers? That's a lot. Over 500 dying stickmen, seen it! But excellent (not perfect) animations and sound. How about a city next time with raging cars and more guns and weapons. That would be awsome!

Very stylish.
"Reconciliation" is confused. The "katana" is the Japanese long sword. The 1-to-2 foot sword is the "wakizashi," which together formed the traditional samurai loadout, referred to as "daisho." (Look it up on Wikipedia). The sword in the movie doesn't look like a katana either. It looks like a slightly-curved single-edged short sword, without a guard, which means it could be anything, from a kodachi to a very long knife.
Anyways, this movie is great. Yes, a lot of this has been done before. Yes, it's not exactly realistic. But you know what? There's nothing wrong with doing something similar to someone else's, as long as you do it better. And this IS better. It's very slick and stylish, from the combat to simple character movement. And it's managed to give a fresh feel to the tired "fighting sticks" theme. Admit it: that scene where the guy tosses him his weapons? The pistol spinning slow-mo through the air? That is pure genius.
You should get a job as an action director. I'd rather watch a feature-length version of Castle made by you than another flick of Jet Li beating up black guys.
