Well, it was a good flash for a newbie. ou need to have for stuff in the foreground of your scenes (i.e.: more than a poorly drawn column) Also, it's not about number of frames total, it's about number of frames PER SECOND. This would make your movements faster.

you know what? that was excellent. now, if you hadnt have said 'this is my first flash', chances are that the score would have been 0.5 higher :D haha.
well, i must say that this is a bloody excellent flash, in any ones standards. and the fact that it is your first just amplifies the goodness of it.
it looked really good because of the backgrounds you used, but i think in future movies you should have a go at creating your own.
also, the characters looked excellent, and you can draw a lot better than many other people.
but, i had to watch it twice to see what happened to the wolf, because the colour of the wolf is black, the colour of the background is quite dark, and the colour of the guys boot is black, so it was really hard to pick what happened.
but overall, great stuff.

Thanks for the detailed review :) Yes, I have taken everyone's advice; and am making my own backgrounds :D Your right; it is a bit dark; I will try to fix up the film so that it's brighter and doesn't show those white bits on the very end of the right hand side ;)

Could've been better
I think a little bit more effort could've been put into this movie, such as Van Helsing walking actually, or making the fight a little longer (although the kick-in-the-balls is getting a little old). But you have potential, and make your graphics a little bit more unique, so in the future people will watch it and say "Yep Silent Edge made that" (if you don't know what I mean, look at Legendary Frog or illwillpress movies)
Some people don't know how to rate.
It was well-animated. But animation isn't everything in newgrounds. It was too short, what little humor it had in it was ok, but really the whole kick-in-the-balls thing was funny for a second but it gets old quick after watching so many episodes of The Simpsons where a man gets hit in the groin by a football. You're not the first to do a Van Helsing parody either, and although the other one (with the high rating) was better than this one, it had some substantial weaknesses too. Nice work with the backgrounds though, they looked very smooth and well-done.
