Hey, fun...
That was preety good. For a "Tetris" game. Keep it up...
Better than Sonic Blox, but still Tetris
Once again, this author changed the tetris formula slightly to produce a version that is slightly more entertaining than classic tetris. I feel this is a better game than Sonic Blox, his other tetris game. He uses the same exact engine, but adds a different element which makes the game unique in a way.
Graphics:
The graphics were well done. In Sonic Blox, the backgrounds stood out way to much and it hindered gameplay a little bit. This was corrected in this game. The background does not interfare at all with what is going on in the foreground. There really isn't any animation needed for a tetris game, the blocks still rotated a tad on the slow side though.
Sound:
I like the idea of using MP3's. However, I didn't choose to use one so I can't really complain about the no BGM. The sfx were sharp and were used in a way where it made sense.
Gameplay:
Instead of getting to use a Sonic character if you clear two or more lines like in Sonic Blox, you must try and squish the parasites while at the same time trying to make lines and make sure the parasites do not take the block pieces away from you when they touch one. This proves to be a slightly more challenging game and thus more enjoyable. But in the end, it is essentially the same exact thing as sonic blox if you strip away the parasites.
Conclusion:
Over all, I enjoyed the game. But there still isn't enough to warrent it as original. But then again, its hard making an original tetris game. Perhaps when you make a few more versions, you can compile them into one package so the player can choose which type of tetris he'd like to play.
