Feel free to do so, but please credit us.

Loved it!

Solid production, variety in riffs, I loved your guitar sound (I'd like to know what it is), vocals are fitting (but a bit too low in the mix) and they sound as tuned as Metallica's. To be exact they sound exactly the same as Metallica's. Was that Autotuning set to max? But I can say something that can easily come back to hit me... The hihat was flat, too much in front all of he time and in many cases simultaneous to crashes (octopus drummer effect) . Now, these are only small details. The overall sound is GREAT!!! Nicely Eq'd, good mixing and clear recordings!
Oh, I also love the solo! Solid and fitting! Get a keyboard player! Then you'll make me happy enough to give you an 11... ;-)

(This is straight from our Guitarist. So know it is without fault.)

With Metallica-like vocals, what was used was a compressor, not an Auto-Tune. I do not know what Bobby's set up at Paper Tiger Studios for the Auto-Tune was. I think the drum track was kind of static too, but Jacob (the guy who wrote the song) wanted something simple. The solo most most likely him improvising. He is insanely talented in that aspect, or any that deal with a guitar. Our Bassist is a keyboard player, so no worry there.

Pretty Amazing

Im talking from a drummer point of view and I think that the drums could get a little more heavy around 00:36, use the crash, open hi hat, ride, double kick, anything thing to give it a heavier feeling that u usually here around the chorus

FoX66 responds:

Personally, I am a drummer as well. I really did not notice that until now. The song was written with a basic drum beat, for me to tweak as I please. I have not really done that until now.

Thanks for the criticism. No sarcasm implied.

very nice! Lots of potential

I wish i could hear your current recording of this! I would definitely like to hear some back ground guitar, and I would love to hear some keyboards to give the song a base (little melatron or whatever your feeling there). around 2:13 some kick ass drumming would work as well. The guitar solo's great, breakdown could use more force but its great, everything works. The sing during the verses is...omg...awesome. I love soft voices mixed with heavy guitar (why porcupine tree is my favorite band, among other reasons), but more force could used during the chorus for sure. I can tell that this is in the works so keep working on it, cause right now its on the verge of being great.

FoX66 responds:

Well, the new backing guitar makes the song sound like Black Sabbath if they were an alternative band. I am not sure about keyboards being in this song because all four of us are doing something all the time and sadly we do not have a mellotron. Jacob has been experimenting with the vocals in the pre-chorus (But do I try...) and the chorus (The clockwork of a madman...) by adding a James Hetfield/Dave Mustaine type growl to them, but keeping the soft vocals in the verses (and Porcupine Tree is a great band). As far as the drums go, what was recorded was the bare bones and the drumline is to my own fancy, whether I want a fill or not, depending on how it fits melodically, of course, but what was written was minimum. This song is pretty much finished, so hopefully we willl rerecord it soon.
