Original Twist to the generic NG Shooter.

I believe this is one of the first NG Shooter's I actually played for a long while. Not only is the game bursting with style, your unique twist to the otherwise generic gameplay really adds a extra dimension to the strategy involved.

The gameplay and controls were spot on. They usually are for a shooter. Your main objective is to spot a "demon" using one tool by rolling the mouse over about 15-20 possible targets that are moving on screen. Once you spot a demon, you switch to your gun and target him and kill him. As the levels progress, it becomes increasingly harder to meet the frag count. Typically in a shooter it is a good idea to have keyboard keys to switch between tools, but doing that in this game would make it easier. I think it was a good idea having to move the mouse over to the gun icon so you have to keep track of the person with your eye. There is one bug though. After I spot a victem with my "sight" tool, the mouse pointer sometimes dissapears when I move the pointer down to the tool selection area which leaves me guessing where the pointer is located.

I have to admit, after the first few levels, things did get a tad boring. There are hardly any new elements added as the levels progress. It is a good game to play when your bored.

On the graphics side, I enjoyed the fact you used pencil drawings. But since you used pencil drawings, you sacrificed animation of your people as they move across the screen. There were a total of two types of people, that moved across the screen in a unrealistic fashion. Another gripe I had was the menue at the bottom seemed a tad hard to read at first, but its something I got use too. In any case, I did find the art style very creative.

The soundtrack you used was very Techno like. I have really nothing to say about it except that I hardly noticed any compression used on your bgm (which is a good thing.) The sfx were well used.

Over all, its definately a game to check out. It really does stand out from the 100's of other shooters out there because of its extra feature. Maybe you'll flesh that out someday and add new and even more creative features.

good job

it looks like u drew it in pencil but still good

Flyborg responds:

Pssst.. That's because I /DID/ draw it in pencil. That was kind of the desired effect. :D
