So very many of 'em lately....
DYC tributes / parodies / knockoffs / callthemwhatyouwills, that is... not that that's a bad thing, necessarily! I enjoyed that one from July, and this one is fun, too. I played several dozen levels a week ago... saved my game, had to reboot, and when I came back and reloaded, a level or two later an indesctructable enemy walked up to my castle and wailed away at it and I couldn't end the level (he was the last thing left). So, my final taste of it was a bit sour... yet I had fun up till then, so...
I liked the variation in things to do. From changing your castle style... to the background changing randomly every time you start (or load) a game... to the four types of enemies to deal with and all the nifty spells and upgrades... it was really a lot of fun! And yes, despite defending a castle, not really THAT much like DYC. One thing: a lot of times you couldn't click on enemies because the "death animation" of another enemy was in the way. That was really annoying, and unless you added it as an intentional challenge to make the game a bit more difficult, I really thought it was a big drawback. Using meteor and fireball made it a nonissue pretty much, but it was a pain until you could afford that. I found that clicking on the HP bars or the shadows on the ground was a good way of getting a bit more to the left or right of a death animation thingie that was blocking your clicks, as a workaround.
Fun game, good job!
