Reviews for "College U-Fighting Game"

controls

yeah controls were a bit off for me too

I think I'm gonna stick to WATCHING College U

rather than playing it. #;-}> The idea of this game is fun, don't get me wrong... but there are a lot of little things that make it a not-as-fun-as-I-expected game when I hit that play button.

First off, most fighting games, whether flash or not, tend to have the ability to move away from and towards your opponent, and I feel that being stuck in place is a major limitation. Not only to your character, but to your FUN while playing. Perhaps it would have been too complicated to add that here, but... I think it's a major hole. Even rock'em sock'em robots has more freedom of motion...

Secondly, the combo movies (those being down and block, down and punch, down and kick... all the down+s, IOW)... are very unreliable, at best. I couldn't ever seem to get the down+punch to work, or maybe Prime's visuals just didn't show it was happening. The other two I did notice working, but again, with a limited success rate. Even just space/block by itself, withOUT pressing down... was sometimes iffy. Just because a fight animation is still going on for your character... I don't see why hitting (and holding) the spacebar should not work. The amount of repeated keypresses I had to make while playing was really frustrating.

Now, all of that said... it was still somewhat fun. Mostly because of the 8 characters you provided, and little touches like the hilarious "power move" and all. But still, by the time I went through the first 7 rounds in level 1, and found that the only difference was going to be that the background shifted from the kitchen of a Planet Hollywood to a dumpster out back... eh... I let myself lose as I typed this out (no way to stop the game between rounds, for one thing).

I think that the humour side could have saved this if you'd added more random voices and stuff, instead of making the main menu character selection the only time for the characters to show much character (aside from the 1 power move per round). As it turned out, I'd rather go and watch the actual tournament in your latest CU ep than play this for more than 2 minutes or so. Maybe there's a big pay-off at the end, but I'm not going to find out until I get really really bored and decide to beat this or something. Oh wells.

All valid comments...live and learn. Next game will be better, and more fun!

Not my cup of tea...but

It was an enjoyable game nonethe less...yet I found the controls a bit unresponsive.

Nah

It could've been so cool....but it isn't. Pretty crappy gameplay. You should at least be able to move your character. CU rocks, btw!

This was an interesting game

The fighting mechanics was a bit clocky and some added medals would make this even more fun, the graphics and artwork was nice the backround deecent the overall end results were fun on this game and I was pleased with it as a whole so nice job here.
