Reviews for "Dragon Maker 4"

decent

it has potential but needs more options

Fun to play around

This was fun to play around with though i wish more dragon designs. I gave it some humor because I thought the text/thought bubble was funny. It would be interesting to see a program that could take seperate components of the dragon and put them together. Good music too!

could be a lot better

this might be better if you made it more like a dress up game, make three or four plain bodies and make a selection of wings, necks and heads and stuff, and not that I wanted to as it is now but put in some way people can save their dragons to the hard drive.

kinda nice, but could be better

I like the choice of song, very appropriate. The dragon designs were pretty good. Anyway, some errors, then suggestions:

general:
--if you hit next on the 3rd dragon, it goes to the very beginning of the flash.
--Necklace option doesn't work for the third dragon

sound:
--song ends up repeating itself sometimes. Might want to have something that monitors that (IE: disables the button if the song is playing).

color:
--Dragon starts out completely black. I'd suggest making it at least white so it's easier to see.
--Transparency is kinda wierd. It would be pretty cool if you could make the dragon itself translucent. Not sure how you did the transparency effects because it just seems to make the color darker.
--The Background option doesn't seem to do anything.
--Highlight color for the last dragon doesn't seem to work. On further inspection, it looks like it's under the normal body color layer. That would be nice if transparency worked like it's supposed to.
--"teeth" for the first dragon also sets the eye color (the part around the pupil). WTF?

Suggestions:
general:
--add dragon to the list of things to cycle (IE: make it so you can go forward and backward). It would also be nice to keep the colors when switching (just store them to variables and check them on drawing the new dragon).
--Ditch the "shadow" option. I mean, it's a fucking shadow...(and why would it have transparency options?)
--ditch the fire button. the flame itself is just...lame. Or maybe make the flame look better, and allow an option to change the color (after all, an ice dragon should have ice breath)
--maybe add an option to make a capture of the dragon with name and type. Not sure how to do that, but it should be possible.
--ditch the "bubble" option. It's *ugly* and it blocks the dragon. Or...I guess you could move it to some place that isn't right over the dragon.
--ditch the "cover" option. It makes sense for horses, but dragons? That just seems like a silly thing to have a dragon wear (although it's nice on the last dragon)
--for the 'accessories' (haha), I think it would be better to just have checkmarks, and then set color options for them. The masks on the first and third dragon aren't really draw all that well, and the ones on the second look nice, but they don't match the rest of the drawing.

color:
--seperate wings from horns. I think it's just silly to have them both necessarily same. Having teeth and horn the same makes sense though.
--add/fix transparency. As I stated earlier, it would be cool if you could have a translucent dragon. I think I understand why the transpacrency doesn't work as it is. You have all the bits of the dragon on top of a solid thing of black (which would explain why it starts out black). Ditch that backing, set the background layer to something to something really high so everything else goes on top.
--Maybe add color patterns. Is that possible?

sound:
--lower the sound quality. That should cut down on file size. (and maybe allow you to add another song)

Music was good, the loader was retarded

Seriously, you really need to work on your loader. It is totally messed up. The music was good though ^^
