Reviews for "Stay Alive v.2"

An okay fighting game

This was a pretty good submission into the flash fighting game universe. Althought the small screen and lack of BGM or more moves only kept me playin' for one round. Some cool combos or multi-level stages would have given this game a truly exciting flare. I wouldn't mind playing the sequel, just make sure you read all the reviews and correct the mistakes you made in this one.

nice

the idiot before me didnt read your WHOLE comment so he complained about there not being any controls. Good Game though and also, if you want the controls....

-------MOVES-------
A key: punch
S key: kick
D key: defense
arrow keys: left/right/jump/crouch

uh

it needs a get the hell on with it button and what are the controls you should state that i think they were moving arrows and a,s,d ned to no that

ehh...

Nothing I havent seen before. This game is ok, the fighting lacks and could be more complex. The instant replay is a fun idea but wasnt what i was expecting. My guess is that a log was taken of key strokes and then entered into the flash engine. This a fresh idea and i think its really cool but i dont beleive this game is all its cracked up to be. Its fun but its not frontpage worthy.

Meh.

I've never been partial to fighting games, so it's really no surpirse that this game didn't tickle my gaming bone one bit.

As the fighting game genre goes, this one appears to only have one really interesting thing going for it. Instant replay. Sure it's neat, but other than that, I'm really not very impressed.

The graphics might look better if you just left them as 3-d images instead of making them into "Flashed" sprites. The sounds effects are okay, but some background music would help a lot. The choice of several fighters and the playfield background is a nice addition, but I feel the time spent adding those options could have been better spent elsewhere. For instance, isn't kinda lame that I can beat my opponent by just holding duck and kick. Sizing up the game would be nice too. It's hard to really see what the heck is going on without dropping my monitor resolution drastically.

Anyway, I don't mean to rip on Stay Alive too much. I've never built a fighting game and I'm sure a lot of work went into building this. You obviously have some good Flash talent.
