MaestroRage responds:

Greek eh? Not Spartan ;D?!

Thanks for the review Jak, i'm glad you liked it!

Just one problem.

This is an exceptional song and it went very well with the dark cut 3 game. The latter half is probobably some of the best classical music i have heard on enwgrounds but the beginning needs some work. The transitions are a bit chaotic and sometimes not even existent. When you switch the ryhtym or tempo or bring in a new instrument you need a second or 2 of lead up. Without the transitions some instruments sound like their clashing and no harmony is prodced. Fix that and I would give a 10 out of 10

MaestroRage responds:

Firstly, thank you for being honest. I can respect all opinions but I must disagree with you that all changes should have a second or two lead in before a change occurs. I didn't in essence add any new instruments, only amplified existing ones by adding layers in different registers. The only part at the beginning where I suddenly threw in new instruments was after the brass ripping crescendo at 0:22-0:24, after which there's a slew of brass instruments kicking in.

I do admit that at the very beginning say 0:04 things bounce off suddenly but this too is done with a purpose. I wanted to create a loop but I also wanted to have a soft part (the latter half) as a contrast. See if I didn't have that gentler string motif that plays at the very beginning and at the very end it would be nearly impossible to make the ending and beginning match up without extending the piece. Since this is for a flash game it would be foolish expanding the piece where it doesn't need to. File size plays a very important role here.

With this I hope you can understand better my intentions. However I am very curious if you are referring to certain times and would be very happy to hear from you where you think things should be changed, I would only be too happy to then investigate. I can't claim to be perfect you may very well be right.

Thanks for that and the review! Glad you liked it!

Simply awesome.

Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I can't make anything like this in a million years. This feels like it would be in some fantasy action movie of this dude riding his dragon and all close up on his face and his hair flying back.

MaestroRage responds:

haha, a rather intense image you see there! I didn't think of any flying heroes on dragons myself but I can definitely see where that image could be! Thanks for sharing it and this review, i'm glad you liked it!
