Reviews for "Crossing the Threshold"

O.O

One of me favorite techo songs, I love the instruments and the part at 1:04 where you mess with the pan function!!!!!!!

Michael425 responds:

thanks for the review, i tried to fit as many sounds into this one as possible. And I worked with a lot of automation clips for panning and volume. Looks like the hard work paid off. Glad you liked it.

Nice one!

I have to go with the others in saying this could really use a nice climax right after about a third of the way in. But besides that this is a killer song man, great work. I love the piano bit, fits very well with the rest of the tune. Keep it up!

Michael425 responds:

haha, thanks for the review brent. I like the name. DJ-BC.

Damn son you're pretty good!

haha, thanks for the review bruce.

Nice!

This is awesome! The melody is cool and all of the sounds are cool. I love that modulated bass! However, it could have been longer. Also, I agree with Ethalyn in that the song had great parts but didn't really come together into one huge part. I felt like it kept building up to something but never really got to the climax. Other than that it was really cool! I can tell you worked hard on this! Keep it up! :)

Michael425 responds:

thanks for the review man. I am definitely going to work on the climax in my next songs. glad you liked it.

Hey man, great song!

Very good song! Liked it alot, actually a little bit of a flowing feel to it, only things i just kept thinking about was when is the climax coming and that how you could have maybe added a bit more hardness to the song, i know its maybe not like PURE techno hard stuff, but i think that maybe having some more bass and harder kicks might help you out.

Ill first ''help'' you with getting a more hard sound, now i THINK that i hear some preset FL kicks in here, if they are VEC (vengeance essential clubsounds) i would recommend to use a harder kick sound from it, but im pretty sure this is an FL preset kick. What you do is go to www.thepiratebay.org and type Vengeance Essential Club Sounds vol 1 and 2...download them both and also download the house essential, vengeance really have some good drum sounds! And really sounds in general that you can have alot of fun with, i advice you not to rely on bass/synth sound from Vengeance samples, i see you wont be needing them though, since the synth/piano in this song is a really good sound =]

Now a climax is just a part in the song where everything comes together, and kind of just settles the listener, this song had VERY good parts, but it never came together all in one part, it was just more of a song with parts rather than a song with parts forming to be a song, in other words i can say that the song lacked ''a point'' Now i think that construction and overall energy are two VERY important factors to carefully consider when putting together a mix. You have your intro, your verse, your chorus, your bridges and so forth, this song i would say consisted mostly of an intro, bridges, and then an ending, the verse and the chorus was missing!

Beside that, dude, this was an awesome track! As said the parts that were in was very good, catchy and very complex and original! I hope to hear more from you soon, and please feel free to PM me when more is out on NG, or if you just want to show me something in private over MSN or something, this was all in all a good song!

thanks for the review man. This stuff helps a ton. I was just thinking about downloading Vengeance and "Nexus" {{i think that's what it's called}} right after I finished this song. I'll try to work a good climax into my next song for sure. It sounds like that's what everyone wanted. Glad you liked it.
