No, Epilepsy is not an eye problem. It is an inbalance of chemicals in your brain, that causes Grand-Mal seizures. But the chemical inbalances are directly related to your vision. Your optic nerve goes to the occipital lobe in your brain, which is close to the cerebellum, where your motor and perception (balance and coordination) sensors are located, thus giving what you see the ability to cause an epileptic episode, AKA a seisure. So in conclusion, he does know what he is talking about. But hey, what would I know, I'm only a paramedic.
