Reviews for "Fantasie Mystique (NG Cut)"

wow

i liked how it started off.
then it progressed.
at first i didn't like the drums so much but further on it blends in perfectly.
after that everything just seemed to flow brilliantly.
i gotta admit i was surprised, from something so mellow and soothing to something slightly upbeat but still kept a mellow grasp.
loved it.

Thanks man.
The song that's following on from this should be a lot more intense, but I hope I can still get that blend of instruments sounding comfortable.

Yay!

The beginning of this intro song is very classical and nice. I love how the electronic sounding pad goes through, and the harp coming in. It's awesome. Then comes some sort of crash. Great add to the composition. I would made it more powerful by putting in more bass myself.

The drums come in after a while, I love them. A very sweet job on the panning job here. It starts to sound a bit full at this part. I love the lead synth that comes in, though the drums seem to be compressed a lot, which sounds a bit out of place.

The lead synth in time gets very experimental sounding. Very awesome. Towards the end I was hoping for some sort of change in the chords, bringing a sort of epic powerfull feeling to the song. A switch like that works surprisingly powerfull after hearing the same chords playing for some time. The ending to this song was alright. I'm sure it wasn't easy to make up an ending.

-At times the song sounds too full, especially when the drums start. If the intro of a song already sound full, then the rest of the buildup will sadly not emit the power you want it to.
-The compression sounds a little strange to me. The drums sound too much on the background, and the synth lead is on the foreground too much.

Awesome song man! Can't wait to hear the rest of the album ;)

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks whirlyperson!
Yeah, compression and mix and mastering is still a tentative business for me. Although I'm better now than I ever have been, I still can't get that extra punchiness in the drums, like you're drumming directly onto the listener's face.
Thanks for the review. <3

gotta love it

that hum that is carried all through the song is what i like best, the rest of it is great, don't change a thing, can't wait for more

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks, man! I've got quite a few different styles of songs I'm working on at the moment, and they should all be at this standard I hope.

Really liked it.

Thats all i have to say my friend. Listened to it the whole way through and it was really fucking good.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks, man. Glad to hear it!

Nice

Took a long time to build up, but after it did, it was really good.

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, it's an introductory piece, so I think the long build up will ultimately serve its purpose well.
