Reviews for "Serenade of Storms"

Beautiful!

You did this song magnificently!

(...and Gobblemeister, this is from a video game. You know, the greatest one of all time?)

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks, rawesome. Nintendo is officially remaking Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the 3DS. I am rather excited. :D

Very Serene

Which is my only problem too

The whole song is very subdued and small.

Not very stormy at all. When I saw 'Serenade of Storms' I was led to believe it would be a strong, intense piece with maybe percussions and faster rhythms.

It's not a bad song by any means, just not appropriately titled.

BlazingDragon responds:

The title was a play on words. This piece is comprised of two tracks from The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Serenade of Water and Song of Storms. Because this combines the two, I named it the Serenade of Storms. The title is reflective of that. Besides, not all storms are violent and torential. I find myself in a state of calm and serenity was the rain pours down, even when it is a tornado watch and our trampoline is being flung across the back fence and into the neighbor's yard. :p

But still, I can understand where you are coming from. Thank you for the honest criticism. :)

Wh-WHAT?

All I can say is-I'm stunned. No, really. I absolutely LOVE how you incorporated the Serenade o Water into it, as by itself it's a lovely piece, and it also fits nicely with the Song of Storms, or at least, you made it so. The tempo change was perfect, and the climax gave me goosebumps. I'm sure whoever that user was is now loafing in their pants.

BlazingDragon responds:

I can't even remember who that user was after all this time lol. Nonetheless, I'm glad that he had so and gave me reason to arrange this. Thanks for the comment! :D

And so...

We find ourself at another passage in this life Mr. Crookston.

The raw emotion in this piece is tangible. There are both tears and smiles literally oozing from the composition. I hear a man suffocating from his sorrow, I hear a mother crying tears of joy of her daughters first steps, I hear real life and all its twists and turns embedded in this song. I see acceptance and denial, love and hate, happiness and sorrow, and it's all here, muttering softly from within the melody and rhthym.

There are few things in this world that touch me as deeply as music does, but by extension there are even fewer things that touch me as deeply as your music. It rains outside now as I write this, though now I know, at the end of this turbulent storm, is the sunshine with its warm embrace. I think I'll go outside and greet it when it gets here, as this song plays through my heart and mind.

Joeybeta was right. There is just too much to say in this tiny little space. Oddly enough though, this tiny little space houses some of the most universal and heartfelt songs to ever reach my ears. Its bliss. Trust me when I say that what I say here is what everyone else feels when they hear your music, it's just hard to find words that fit the emotion.

And this was submitted years ago! Who would of thought that 2:54 of music could change the world? Keep doing what you're doing, but know that it's worth so much more then a 10/5 can convey.

BlazingDragon responds:

I must admit that I do not hold a very positive musical self-esteem. While I love composing, it often feels as though there is so much to learn and so many more skilled musicians out there than I. At times, weeks go by without composing, and the thought of doing something else with my life dangerously plays across my mind.

It is always then that I am directed to a review such as this. Is it God pushing me forward, reminding me of why I compose in the first place? I am not certain. In any case, I find myself caught in wonder and thankfulness that something so personal to me has moved another. And so my joy is renewed, and I realize that composing is not about money or success but of expressing humanity.

Thank you for the encouragement, and all the best to you. God bless.
