wicked cool!
Nice sprite flash! There is precious little that needs any improvement...but since you did ask for reviews, I'll break it down as best I can ^-^ :
Graphics: An excellent job. It was a little slow at the begining, and with the simple "slide show" type animation you inititally used, I was initially misled about the nature/quality of the flash. This of course changed VERY quickly once the actual "mission" began. Loved the flow speed and its consistantcy with the respective moods you were trying to set (i.e. very slow text during the emotional parts vs. fairly fast movements in battle sequences). The sprites were very well done, and the scene where Mega Man's armor is slowly attached as different thoughts appear across the screne was terrific.
Why not a ten, you ask? The begining and the slow speed of the "armor donning" (sorry had to find something :) )
Sound: Excellent choices for the music. The only example I can think of that this isn't so is in the use of the "mourning" melody from the movie "Braveheart". The first time it was used it was perfect, but you should have left it at that. In subsequent uses it felt a little over the top (when the armor is going on, I'd recommend using some kind of rising tempo music to build to the climax of Mega blasting the bejesus out of the slime ball villian :) ). Sound FX wise it was great!
Premise: I'm fascinated as to where you'll go from here story wise. The first episode is normally designed to be a "teaser" that hooks the audience into watching subsequent episodes (you have succeeded!).
Improvements: Hmmmm...I'll have to dig deep on this one...
Ok first off if you could find a way to do the opening with actual sprites it would set the mood of the story much, much faster. Also, I think the female lead died WAY WAY to early into the flash (hopefully she'll be reintroduced under the pretense of surviving the attack or in a flashback (my opinion alone)). Definitely switch off your music to match the mood of each individual scene (you're REALLY close to achieving this!). Make the aforementioned "Mega Man Armor" scene faster (or start slow and accelerate rapidly). I think that's all I can think of.
Overall a magnificent job. I'm really looking forward to the sequel. And while I couldn't bring myself to give you a perfect 10 review-wise, rest assured...
All my 5's are belong to this ^-^
