Reviews for Flying Away [R]

Ugh

I hate reviewing remixes, the original always disagrees with the remix, and everything becomes confusing. However, as the original "Flying Away" is one of my favorite songs of all time, I had no choice but to review this gem of yours.

The intro is very catchy, and has a raw yet clean synthesizer that manages to grabs someone's attention. The thing with this song is that it grabs you and doesn't let go. There was absolutely no boring moments in this song. Normally, remixes get repetitive and boring, and even though this one is over twice as long as the original, it doesn't get old.

However, the bass lines are loud, and ALMOST distort the melody. You want all your instruments to help each other, not work independently.

You see, this is where it gets tricky... the grading process. As a song, you'd get 8/10, it has some noticeable flaws. As a remix, you'd get a freaking 11/10 if it were for me. So I'm really confused on how I should grade this.

I agree in a way...

It doesn't seem like its your most effortable work, although it is difficult to remake a song with no MIDI. But regardless, its and Excellent song, good for thinking or vibing to when working on like an essay. OF course you intro always kicks my ass! But some how, i think you've could have done just a tad bit better, transition wise at least. But I also Agree with JV (F-777), you managed to take someone else's work and making into something that directly reflects your style and theme. I also thing that maybe you should sign for a contract some time too.^^

It is my most effortable work actually, worked like non-stop on it =)
And I prefer to leave it as a hobby, I'm not a professional musician, didn't even have 1 music lesson in my whole life, everything's from self-learning and good ears I think.
