Well it is nicely done. The intro sounds a bit like the pokemon battle begining. Except that, the song is pretty different from the original and like Suezo said, it is a good rythme that don't make it annoying like some pokemon battle music (well for me it is Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald battle music that i don't really like that much).

Different song, Same style
I think it is great because you didn't use anything to imitate (except for the intro, which is similar for most PKMN battle songs). I hate people who give low scores for a song just because it's from or similar to a song from something they don't like.
