I don't understand
By the time I was asked to draw a character I was lost
I'm using flash MX 2004 and I didn't know which type of document to make...
And that music's starting to piss me off to be honest...

Flash Document. 1st one.
uhhh
where do yah get codes from?
i could not get mine to work..............
i pasted every thing where it goes but he keeps falling through ARE YOU SURE IT NOT BECAUSE I HAVE FLASH 8? let me know okay?
song....was....annoying
the song was annoying, it kept playing through. lots of people have MX 2004, and the panels/instance thing is not right for 2004, you must go to the bottom left corner and name it ground. I got very confused when the character was supposed to land on the ground, because it didn't tell you how to move the plus/cross sign thing. a very good tutorial, but it should be updated to the 2004 edition, so less people are confused. thank you for reading
Ahh maybe someday I will update it, I've left flash for some time now but am about to return, I think. Hehe. Anyhow I made this while in Flash 5 I believe and so that is why things are different, but they seem to be so similar that most people do not get messed up. Thanks for commenting.
One shouldn't teach what one doesn't know.
Don't exepect to learn anything. This tutorial doesn't explain the actionscript properly, the author even admits that his understanding of the code he's teaching is poor. This makes the tutorial a poor aid, and frustrating when things don't work. I followed it to the letter and couldn't get the item code working at all, however at least the collision code worked to a degree. There are obviously much better ways to code a platformer though.
