Reviews for "Diclonius - Sasha Tarquin"

i love your work

your vocals are really good your work is amazing

Stunning.

I really didn't have enough of an appreciation of symphonic metal, until I came across this song a while ago, but thanks to my sheer laziness, I never reviewed this submission, why Ryan?

Anyway, as I mentioned, this is really quite a beholding peice of symphonic metal. Of which, I especially appreciate the projection of the symphony, being, that they aren't completely drowned out in the percussion, or even the guitars for that fact too.

Speaking of guitars, in my opinion, that rythm has some strangely ungodly awesome-sounding tone, I really need to know how you can get that distortion to actually sound like that. I enjoyed the lead thoroughly too, especially it's implementation.

Drums really seem to fit a niche that one is unable to complain with, but at the same exact time, seems like there should be something done to inprove them somehow, I personally am not sure what though, maybe volume.

Now, for vocals, I love the fact that vocals are clean, it melds well with really everything, the female vocalist has an admirable voice for singing harmony, I believe? Honestly though, as much as the vocals impressed me, maybe there could be work done to improve your ability for proper sustain, but honestly I can't even do that myself, the hypocrite that I am. >_>

Well, foreward, this is really an emotional track, that made me feel very moved as I listened to it, you heard me, I really appreciate this track, but what are the Diclonius anyway?

Regardless, do more symphonic metal please.

It's pretty good.

Well you might not know me man, but I've been a long time fan of yours, Saiyan and Streets of Rage Remake probably being my favorite songs of yours. I really like your style, the whole symphonic metal thing is great, but I don't know, this song just didn't rub me the right way. It doesn't really have the same style that Saiyan has. I really liked the female vocals at the beginning, with the whole opera-like intro, but after that, it got kinda old. I didn't really like your singing style in this one either. Too opera-ish in a kind of way. I like the way you got the idea of having a female vocalist but I just don't feel like you implemented it in the right way. But I dunno, maybe it's just that I have a certain specific taste in my music. But either way man, you're still amazing, keep it up! Oh, and one other thing I noticed, your guitar solos in your songs seem to be getting kind of similar. Like in streets of rage and the one in this one are very alike. Maybe you're running out of ideas or something. Heh, kidding, anyway, keep this symphonic metal stuff coming! Peace.

Sasha-Tarquin responds:

thanks for your review man,

i'm glad to hear that your a fan of some of my work, i also appreciate your honesty about the song.

this song was purely showing the emotion that Elfen Lied has, that's why i kept it more melodic/operatic.

and with regards to the solo's, i just like my tapping what can i say haha :)

i really do appreciate your support and thanks for an extensive review
if you have any ideas for another tune hit me a pm.

cheers

Awesome!

I'm a big fan of Elfen Lied, and this song expresses a lot of the feelings that were going on during the story.
The only problems I found with this song were that the female voice was very hard to understand, and the ending just kind of died. It wasn't dynamic enough.

Nice

But you shoulda made the guys voice more... Cannibal Corpse-ish... Then youd have this nailed perfect.
