Reviews for "NSG003:HyperSpottheDiffer"

Quite a fun game

The graphics in this flash were alright. The sound, the clapping noise was pretty annoying when it got played loads of times. Other sounds, there's the "duh" one. This game, it was quite fun trying to spot the difference. The most I got on this game was 50, which I think is pretty good since the timer did go faster and faster. Got slow at the end there. Oh well.

Bezman responds:

Glad you liked it. I think over 60 is a great score.

Clapping - everyone seemes unanimous (Sp?) in condemning it. Myself included.

Maybe I'll edit the game and just take that out.

I like aural feedback though.

It's hard to know what to do...

Completely pointless(sorry)

There didn't seem to be any point to this game and in the end i just gave up as it was too boring, easy and pointless.

It was pointless because it was way too easy to spot the differences all they were were a change on the picture, but it changed before your eyes therefore showing you where it is and it was way too easy, if this were to be a reaction game it was still poor as not only was the difference too obvious but you had too much time to be able to click on it. I didn't like the sound at all, the clapping every time you clicked on the difference was just annoying and you were basically constantly clicking, so the clapping was constant, which made it even more annyoing.

I'm so sorry for the bad review(your still my favourite flash author), I do kinda feel bad for giving you a bad review, but I'm sorry it had to be done for this game.

Stay fizzy.

Bezman responds:

You raised a few points. These are my replies.

- I meant it to be easy to see the differences. More about quick thinking than observational skills.

- The time you get is constantly reduced. So it does work as a reaction game. Since by the time you get to 40 or 50, you only get a tiny amount of time. (Get on the high score table before saying it's too easy, dude...)

- Clapping - yeah, a stupid addition. Folk kept saying my stuff should have sound. That's the only clapping sample I could get. Personally, I'm in favour of aural feedback, but it annoys me too at times.

Thanks for an honest review.

No need to feel bad. I always like feedback, good or bad.

Stay funky,

Score=58

Not as good as the orginal. The differences were too obvious, it was just a "click the right area quickly" game. It doesn't have the same feel to it :/

Bezman responds:

Well, maybe the title is too misleading - it really is meant to be more a case of reactions and quick thinking than specially keen observational skills.

I do understand how some may be dissappointed it just isn't StD.

Not bad at all

I actually really enjoyed the game. I got a 58.. Probably not very good, but hey.. I gave it a shot..

Personally, I think the game would be a lot better if there was more that would happen, not just the seven things like now. And the applause does get a tad obnoxious after 30 some clicks. I honeslty don't think the game needs more detail, just more things that can happen in the pictures.. I guess that WOULD be detail..

I think the idea level would be great, but make sure not to have the game flash through them.. Make them hit 55 points or 60 points, whatever to go to the next level.. Some music is a great idea.

Other than that, I really liked it. Keep up the great work as always.

Bezman responds:

Thanks for a great, thorough review. Having you tell me your thoughts so completely really does help.

Also, I'm honoured to have you return to play more of my games. :)

The applause is almost definitely a mistake. I was under pressure to include sound and just got the best thing I could from flashkit.com.

Maybe for such a fast-paced game, no sound would be better... or maybe I could have it so that different notes of a simple tune play each time you succeed so the faster you play, the faster the tune. I don't know how to do that yet, but am sure I could learn...

Like I seem to do with everything I make, I will definitely update this at some point in the future, and have multiple pictures (not just the same picture with different differences).

I suppose once there's more pictures, folk won't have to look at each individual one for as long, so the level of detail should be sufficient. Besides, when the picture gets too detailed, it makes the difference harder to see and that would defeat the point.

I think what I might do for levels is have 2 different pictures to start off with, the game alternating between them but showing different differences. But then at 5 or 10 points, a new picture could be introduced and the game would flick between all 3. And every 10 points (or whatever) a new picture could be introduced, which would be added to the cycle.

I don't know if I'll add music. But maybe I'll be able to replace the applause with notes of a tune?

We shall see...

As always, thanks for the thoughts and props. :)

Not bad

An okay game. Could have benefitted a lot from better graphics, some 'levels', and some bangin' music. That applause sound wears thin -real- quick.

If you got better pics and if you had it start slower, and then when your score hit like 30 you got a pause, applause, and switched to a new picture with faster countdown times for another 30 -- THAT would be a really GREAT game.

Bezman responds:

Cheers.

You're definitely right about the sound.

I was actually quite pleased with the graphics, but I suppose - as my friend says - it looks worse because there only is one picture.

I like your idea for various levels. I may well implement something along those lines when I come back to this idea.

I suppose some loop, along with a 'stop music' button would make it better. One thing that put me off is that I don't know how to speed music up, so I though the music would start seeming a bit slow as the game sped up.

Still, when I return to the idea, I'll try to address the issue.

Cheers for a genuinely useful review. :)
