Ha, love it.

This is done so nicely that I imagine this being the original song to a game I could play on my NES.

I love all the original Halo tracks more than you can imagine, so you started off on the right foot, which in itself isn't your attainment, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't help.

sounds extremly similer to the halo_2_remixed MIDI file on vg music run through GXSCC.

Doesn't sound like you've done any real work just taken the MIDI run it through GXSCC and uploaded it here.
