Actually, I believe that cross is right where it belongs. It is a symbol of death after all and Jesus never verified it was ok to use symbols and idols to represent him. In fact it is sinful. What's with religious people and doing the exact opposite of what God commands anyway?

Just a quick blurb
Nice contrast in your piece. I like how you left the creature without eyes, making it seem a bit eerie! The only thing that throws me off is the light coming in from the top seems it is behind the figure. I'm not sure how you could improve beyond that though.
