little background story
This is Azrael from the order of the stars. Identified by their symbol depicting a star in its earliest stages the order of the stars is a secret society with the soul purpose of finding the origin of life and existence in our universe. He has been commissioned to the outer rims of the known universe to break down some of the oldest planets to molecular level for transport and scientific study. Due to the nature of his mission secrecy is of up most importance. He is licensed to destruct of any being that stands in his way.

First 10-rated item I've ever seen on Newgrounds, and deserving of it! (Ok, only 9 reviews).
The colour blending is nigh-on perfect and the textures are really nice. I love that symbol on the back of (its?) robe.
This deserves more attention.
OMG
I would have to say this is one of the single greatest pieces I've ever seen! Now usually I don't review art because it's not my kinda thing... but seeing this piece told my subconscious to log on just to say how great I think this is.
I could think of so many more reasons that I think that this art is great, but here's three:
1) Saynof says it right: it just tickles my imagination when I look at this. I mean when I look at this, it just made my imagination EXPLODE with possibilities. Back in my mind, I came up with a backstory, and even the reason why he is standing on that exact patch of earth, to say the least. \
2)It literally just jumps out at me. I mean it could be just me, but when my teeny little eyes took a little peek-a-boo onto this picture, I saw not just a guy using his powers to levitate these little pieces of rock, no. I saw an epic battle! Good Vs Evil! Super Saiyans blowing up planets(not necessarily Super Saiyans, but a really close equivalent)!
3)Each line in this masterpiece compliments the next. Without the foreground, oooh planets dissolving. Big whoop. Without the background, oh look that guy is lifting rocks with his mind. Big whoop. But together, I saw a being so powerful, at the mere thought, he (or she, I mean Samus was female, anybody could) was capable of destroying WHOLE FRIGGIN PLANETS.
This thing was a piece of eye candy. I can honestly say that this is the longest I've ever stared into a screen, looking at a single still image. Looking at this does is truly inspirational, and helps me think about possibilities.
If I were you, I would get a job as a concept artist. Your ideas could spread like wild fire there, and you could turn a pretty penny from your hobby.
This is truly one of the most amazing pics I've seen anywhere, and thanks for your time and the wallpaper.
