Reviews for "Ball Factory"

?

that was a very strange movie... that ending was enspecially weird.

O_O

That ending scared me. Seriously. This was awesome. FIVED.

very nice

I don't usually give 10's, but after watching this movie, i had to give a ten.

the style and graphics were extremely well done. I especially like the part when the two kids were waliking along, one above ground, and one below, and seeing the mountains above ground and the stalagtites below.

The music was also very good for the mood.

Very interesting - fun to watch

That was very fun to watch because it was a good story, I don't know why it was such a good story to see played out, maybe because we can relate to it, but whatever it was, it was entertaining to watch this story happen

I honestly can't think of anything that you need to work on - your movie was very well put-together

that guy said he's heard this story before - is this like some common story? I've never heard of it - though it did kind of remind me of H.G Wells' Time Machine (where the dudes undergroung that make everything capture someone from above every once in a while).

I think I got it - the people underground were making the balls, right?

Was it supposed to be a sad story? I didn't really find it sad. If you meant for the viewer to pity the underground people, it really didn't work, because the underground people were going to eat the boy or whatever, which is why the people above killed them, which makes sense and isn't really wrong in most aspects. If you wanted to get pity for the underground people, you should have showed that they were going to attack the boy for good reason - like maybe the boy does something wrong in their underground world.

Anyway, if you're wondering about products and economy, you should take a course in economics at your school. If you can't do that, then you could read on the subject - I strongly recommend the textbook by Gregory N. Mankiw - seriously, it explains everything so well and simply that it is used worldwide.

On the whole products affecting the economy thing - well, if you're talking about those sweat shops then yeah that's pretty fucked up - but don't get in the trap of thinking free trade can hurt people on the whole or that free trade and business is intrinsically evil - always remember that trade is ALWAYTS beneficial to both parties (otherwise people wouldn't trade) and people ALWAYS have something that they can do or make for trade - this is true to the point that it is mathematically proven, I know it sounds weird, but when you do the math, it ends up true. And sometimes trade might end one industry in a country, and the people working in that industry may lose their jobs and be affected in the short-run, but remember that the trade means much more benefit to everyone on the whole (like the steel industry for instance, Americans don't make steel anymore, and I'm sure a lot of workers were unemployed for a while because of it, but now all the other industries that use steel are running much more efficiently and their products are cheaper)

AlantheBOX responds:

you're right, because large corporations never ever take advantage of the underprivileged. no one is ever shortchanged.

anyways, no, you missed the point. the people who lived above ground were making the balls out of the people who lived below ground, hence, the underground community was outraged at the sight of the ball.
