the lack of beat actually helps this song, not all good songs have a giant beat, the beats fine. of course I'm the author with an overactive imagination and I think of space pirates when listening to POTC remixes, so that my contribute to why I say the beats fine, but still leave it the way it is, just make the song longer.

anyway, time for critique:
honestly ,almost every part of me is screaming "no! this does NOT deserve an 8!!"
but, i'll explain.
the bass needs to be just a little louder (which really contributes to the emptyness of a song [yes i know i misspelt that :D])
and only because every other part is screaming loud! so the i think the bass needs a little appreciation :D
also, the beat isn't really original. the score isn't really based on THAT, since this is a preview, anyway.
but the beat sounds pretty much the same from your other pirate songs. just add a little variation with the beat at different measures throughout the song (with dynamics possibly) and you'll be good.
