Reviews for "Solus- In Soviet Russia"

lol

The mix in the first section could have been better, I thought that the lead needed to come out a lot more, it was very quiet. The first 30 seconds didn't sound remarkably russian, but the section after that was good, in that sense. Vamping piano ftw! It's not bad, but I think a song based solely around the second section would have pulled off the russian feel a bit better.

Good job.

SolusLunes responds:

IN SOVIET RUSSIA, LEAD QUIET IN MIX!

(I thought it sounded better that way.)

dude

Mixing needs improvment and the melody isn't...melodic.
7/10

But in soviet russia:
10/7.546640²³!

SolusLunes responds:

YOU DAMN RIGHT.

Very...interesting

Well...its orginal, Ill give it that. Definetely needs more bass, and perhaps sharper brass. It does indeed sound comical, and it has a nice beat. It does need work, however.

SolusLunes responds:

Nah, the sharper brass was something I considered, but decided not to use. It didn't quite have the kind of sound I was looking for.

Not bad!

I gave it a 6 cause there were some transitional issues that if you wanted to make it sound old country like you could have donje a few other things instead of bad tempo changes to show that. I am a huge fan of new music style especially like this but in the first transition into the B part of the song right in the middle there are areas that lag then speed up then slow down and they are really obvious in your C section, the one at the end.
It was good but the tempo thing kills me since I have been playing Jazz and Ska since I was in the band in middle/high school and now I'm in college I am doing it more and more and it is just like bamboo chips under my nails...
Kudos though.

SolusLunes responds:

It's not really Jazz... Newgrounds just doesn't have the variety of genres that I need.

In fact, would you believe that there actually isn't a tempo change on the .rsn song file? It's just a change in how the notes are played and time signature.

Good Pieces But No Whole

I liked every piece of this piece, and that is precisely the problem, it doesn't seem very cohesive to me, I don't feel that different verses and the chorus really fitting together. But I would like to say I love each part.

SolusLunes responds:

It's true, part B sounds better than A to me, but I couldn't get B to sound awesome without A... you understand what I'm trying to say, right?
