Reviews for "I Burn Bridges"

nice jazz

Not very fan of the ska, but MAN THAT JAZZ IS SERIOUSLY LOUIS ARMSTRONG STYLE!
beautiful touches in it that would make him proud!

HyruleanHyroe responds:

Well awesome! I've always enjoyed playing that bit, even if most of it is made up on the fly. And by the way, Louis = the KING of SWING, and I will listen to his sweet music till the day I die.

Nice

I really liked it, i agree with the guy below me about tempo changes. I think that you have somthing here but you just haven't really "hit your stride" You just need tp find a song where everyone in you band loves and wants to make better and is willing to work really hard to get it. On a more critisizing note, i think your singer needs to put more emotion in his voice, he is hitting all the notes really well and all but, it can get a little boring, especially with a longer song like this. I think that the overall piece was well done, but your still a little rough around the edges. Overall i liked it, you have a good sound, it dosen't stay the same which is a mistake a lot of people make, your original, and you have potential. Altogether its a good song but i wouldn't download it, but then again this isn't really my main focus of what i like to listen to (gunge and metal) so thank you for a good listen.

HyruleanHyroe responds:

We love each and ever one of our songs like our children. Well, all but this one. j/k!

We appreciate the constructive criticism, and I personally am surprised and very happy to hear that someone who likes music so anti-ska actually enjoyed our stuff, at least moderately. So thank YOU for the good review!

hey

I like the song except the drop off of the strings at the beginning messed something up so i think you should either keep the strings playing or 86 them :/

HyruleanHyroe responds:

Yeah, about that.....

Brian (teh singer) kind of added those in at the last second before the song was mastered, just to see if it sounded nifty. There's been some debate over that. I agree, however, I think they should have been held out a little longer and dropped gradually. Ah well, it's too late now. Our new stuff will be better, I promise!

I Like this one to

I listened to 4 am the other day and really liked it. Good job. The musics good and the lyrics to.

HyruleanHyroe responds:

Well thanks, Jankers! That covers just about everything, so awesome! :D

Hmm...

well, it's not ska, but it's still good, it's more like funk with ska undertones, but it's still good.

HyruleanHyroe responds:

Yeah, that pretty much sums up what I have since given up trying to get across to people. This is some of our earliest work, when the band was actually making a transition from punk to ska. Our first 6-7 songs aren't ska per se, but every song we write gets closer, while (hopefully) maintaining a bit of the unique sound we are trying to make for ourselves. Check out some of our newer stuff, or even wait until we upload a song from our newest CD, coming soooon!
