Reviews for "The Ten Commandments"

((( HEH )))

I remember that story of the statue thing heh, it was kinda funny, just the sound quality was abit low, but it was kinda neat, keep it up...

MOVIE COMMENTARY: Sound quality abit low...

~X~

TheOtherTruth responds:

LOW SOUND QUALITY???? I thought it was better since I fixed it!

OK, I will check into it again, thank you for watching!

Intersting.

I thought that was intersting, and funny too. Because when you think of it, how many of those people who are adamant about keeping the 10 commandments think of no one but themselves? There are other religons to consider, and people interpret the bible in different ways. All in all, good job, i loved it.

TheOtherTruth responds:

Thank you for your review.

This is actually the favorite of all of my flash, but it really pisses a lot of people off at the same time. I guess ALL of my flash have a tendency to do that.

Thank you for watching!

Your flash kind of suck...

But still there is somthing new and interesting in your movies- and most of all they have a meaning. Most other flash on NG are just commercialized bullshit... seriously.

You could maybe work a bit more with your graphics, have different scenes, zoom, change view, just to make the toon funnier and pleasure us viewvers. ^_^. Good voiceacting and lipsynching though.

Hmm...

I didn't really enjoy this very much. First of all, I don't really have an opinion on this particular matter so I'm NOT biased. (As this clearly IS, but hey, what really isn't?) I just didn't think that it was that funny, other than the part about throwing that stupid bitch Britney Spears into the bonfire, she sucks at singing and deserves it! Last of all, you could definetly do FAR better at animation.
P.S. Your "Fulp Fiction" flash was blammed before i was done with my review, so my review didn't get posted. Honestly, is was an interesting idea, but it just was flat out bad. Not a real tribute, and it sort of disgraced one of my favorite movies. No offesne, just my opinion. (like the majority of your flashes)

TheOtherTruth responds:

Thank you for your review.

AT LAST, I get to address the Fulp Fiction thing. There was not really anything redeeming about it, and it certainly would never win an award, BUT...I did think it was funny. It was a one shot joke that I actually found amusing.
(bear with my thought process here)

I was just sitting at home thinking, "Man, if I had to work with one of my siblings there would be bloodshed!" I also thought that there were probably times where a conversation in that same vein could happen. As far as disgracing Pilp Fiction...NO WAY. I own 3 copies of it myself (don't ask) and I never get tired of it. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and I can't wait for Kill Bill!

Oh yeah, you reviewed this movie too.

To each his own, I guess.

You are right, though. I could do far better animations and do some really fantastic work on Newgrounds,
However.....Flash can only be a hobby that I have limited time for. At 36 years old with a wife and 4 kids, I can not justify the time needed for high end work.

As always, though, I apreciate your review!

Seems good, but needs subtitles.

I think I understand the message you're trying to get across and I smiled at some of the stuff said.

However, I didn't make out what was said at the start of the movie, don't understand what the setting is (I'm not American, so don't hear all your news) and that detracted severely from my enjoyment of the movie.

If you redid this with subtitles and also had a paused screen at the start explaining the background (or maybe an option to either just watch the movie or go to such a screen), then I'd probably enjoy it far more.

Do you think you'll ever make such a thing? I mean you re-did the Bush Bash thing with clocks...

TheOtherTruth responds:

Thank you for your review.

Scotland, eh? First of all, we need some quality Scottish Ale to discuss this over!!

First of all, this nutty supreme court justice in Alabama believes that the ten commandments are the basis for our legal system. More importantly, he believes that everybody else should agree with this premise.

Because he felt this way, he sneaked a 4000 pound (1800 kilo?) monument into the courthouse and planted it in a very conspicuous place.

NOW, I am happy that this man is good with his religion, and that he is a God fearing man.

My problem with this is several fold.

First he believes that the only way to be moral is to believe in the ten commandments. I would wager that there are many moral people who believe in other religions, or even atheists, who are moral and don't adhere to the judge's beliefs.

Second. In the United States we are supposed to have a separation of church and state. By putting his personal beliefs in the lobby of the courthouse he violates this basic concept in our law, and also suggests a complete bias against those who do not follow his beliefs.

Third, I believe that even having a monument like this, and then fighting vigorously to keep it in place is actually idol worship. This is against the 2nd commandment!

and finally....

HE HAD TO SNEAK IT IN THE COURTHOUSE AT NIGHT!!!!!

Now, I don't know where you come from but if you have to "SNEAK" to do something....ITS PROBABLY WRONG!!!

So, this is basically the gist of the movie. This guy overstepped his bounds, the religious right flocked to him like insects to an insect zapper to protect a stone (of all things), and anybody who disagreed was a heathen!

I hope that helps some.

OH YEAH, the clock thing was just an experiment.

I wanted to see if you submitted 2 things (basically the same) one with clocks and one without, would people rate the movie differently.

The results: It got exactly the same rating! So, I am not convinced that just putting a clock in a movie changes the world!
