This is so good! I much prefer it to the 2nd version... there's only three things I would change:
1) I think the drums are fine where they are *but* when things start getting frantic (around 1:30), the drums should become heavier (but not overpowering like your 2nd version)
2) It should be longer! (Easy for me to say, I know :)
3) The end sounds a little weak
