Reviews for "Quantum Laboratory"

wow

ive never actually heard about industrial before.
It is actually quite good.
wonderful!

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

Thanks! Yeah industrial is not really my style either. But thanks for checking it out and I'm glad you like it.

Well done

You know, I never really payed much attention to the "Industrial" genre before, but I think it's fast becoming favorite genre in within electronica music. This is another fine example of the sort of creativity and originality that seems to be severely from the mainstream genres but is still usually pretty accessable for those with at least a little bit of an open mind.

Whoops, sorta went of on a tangent there. As for the piece itself, I think it's very well done in all aspects. I really like the almost bouncy feel of the lead synth, which adds more depth to the piece rhythmically outside of the drum track. The drums are pretty well done for the most part, though the glitchy rolls felt a bit overdone. Also, though this may be at the expense of clarity, adding even more reverb might help express the "outer space" theme even more (I can't help but feel that the drums feel a bit too canned - inside small chamber or something).

Overall, this is a really nice piece. There's places for improvement but basically you've expressed you intentions very effectively. Great job!

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

thanks for the good review man, those compliments mean a lot coming from you. glitch is probably indeed overdone, its a hard technique to master needless to say. the reverb was intentionally suposed to sound canned (small room size plus some decay), but a larger reverb sound for this theme is a great idea. again, thanks another helpful review, i'm glad you like this one :D

wow

wasnt a bing fan of your orchestral song, but this is amazing.
I love every part of it.
the flanger is nice, strong but ends are EQed off, making it more unique

the synths sound great, the hoover is delicous
the glitchyness is simple, but amazing
the synth that comes in at :37 is incredible
i love the way it plays short notes, with long pauses, iut emphasises the reveb

and when the drums come in, orgasmic. like, i actually jumped up in my chair, shrunk flash, clicked the download song button, then started writing this reveiw.

i can see what you mean about your obsession with reverb, but it works in a song like this, because not too many different reverbs are being utilised at once

keep up the good work and i hope you make more songs like this

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

Dude, thank you so much for the awesome review!!! those words make me happy :D i'm really glad that you noticed and enjoyed the individual aspects of the this track, I really appreciate that. its probably my most experimental- i'll try to indeed make more tracks, i seem to be in a bit of a writers block for the past two weeks, but you're comments raised my levels of inspiration!

Thanks again for the nice words, good score, and download! :D

Chemically.

Glitched drums and percussion -- I love it! The hoover was utilized very well, in my opinion. The piece that plays in the middle that sounds like a xylophone/bell thingy was odd, but it fits the overall feel of the track. The strings that play near the end of the track fit great with the phased synth (maybe a hat).

I might be wrong about a lot of things I've said, but I do know that this track is pretty cool. Nice job!

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

well-just from listening to some of your tracks i'd say you know more then me and you're correct moreso! but those strings are actually a synth flute :P

thanks for the review dude!

Hah.

FPC drums from the guy who suggested me not using them? Osnap son, osnap ;P That crash cymbal is what gave it away (and if it's not FPC, Jesus Christ, shoot me alive).

Still, the song's excellent. I absolutely LOVE the glitched drums. The lead that comes in sounds quite good and catchy. The variation in the song keeps it unpredictable and interesting, very nice job on that. The overall mood of the song is, .for a lack of better words, pretty.

My apologies for not being able to deliver a thorough review, that's simply because I find this song to be great. Thanks for review one of my tracks and sorry for returning the favour so late. Keep it up ^ ^

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

good ear ;) ... but yeah, I hate to be hypocrital when I review stuff, but it happens >_< I find a lot of flaws in my work but sometimes just cant fix them, or am too lazy. in this case, this track was made several months ago (but posted only one month ago), I should replace the default samples with something more original sounding.

thank you much for your words and good score! no worries at all about returning a review late or not thinking you are detailed enough (you're fine, I talk too much :D). i dont want people to feel obligated on returning reviews unless they want to-I just like listening and giving in depth feedback on other's works. Thanks again!
