Reviews for "==(Climbing a Snow Mounta"

I like it

except for the annoying square that comes in with the drums at 0:43.

IMHO you should have used more obscure sounds for drums, brought out the piano, and used some syncopated synths - the pads are good and all but rhythmic ambient is sometimes made greater with the same stuff that makes dance music great.

Cool!

Nice wind effect... it sets the mood really well. The strings are very pretty and then that bass-like thing comes in! It sort of surprised me because I was expecting a pure classical piece (I didn't read the genre... still can't find it) but i liked it.

One suggestion: (I don't know much about techno instruments so excuse me if i'm wrong about any techno/trance related comments that are wrong) That melody synth you have playing that starts at 0:44-1:44 has potential but I feel it is overplayed. If you had it ever-changing you would have added a sense of flow and direction to the song! I think this would have been really cool!

The melody would not have even had to been planned out... you could have just had it all over the place (of course, making sure the notes were in key or harmonizing) and it would have sounded great I think!

Overall, this was a pretty cool piece, and the main thing that I think it was lacking is that "flow". Nice job!

Too much melody

I was kind of overwhelmed by full-our melody. There wasn't enough bass support. You have to be careful, high, melodic instruments are fun and easy to manipulate in a song, but don't neglect the bottom of the song.

But I sound too critical. It was a good song. The bongo, or whatever that was, added a lot to the song. It gave it kind of a Latin feel.

I'm tired. I should have written a longer review.

Hmm

Kinda soft for my taste.
i think a little editing and a little more volume and pace and this would make a cool jungle combat music though...

i respect your efforts. it was an okay piece. ive just heard somewhat better.

SBB Climbs High, Can Go Higher

SBB's aptly-named 'Climbing a Snow Mountain' demonstrates both elegance and simplicity. Wind, ice, and the heavy tread of feet are all cleverly depicted, using synthesized steel drums, chimes, and bass. Its harmonious nature and lack of aggression makes it ideal wait music for more uptempo games. Layered percussion effects add a certain degree of complexity, though subtle crescendos among the different parts are missing, leaving an overall sense of direction absent.

Though imperfect, the track demonstrates a firm grasp of technical details and a certain sense of aesthetics. With 'Climbing a Snow Mountain,' SBB establishes himself as one to watch for future offerings as he hones his craft.
