I agree with darkrai870, in that the song was a great tribute to your father, and I am sorry about what happened to him. Anyways, as far as the song, I am very impressed. It was solemn, yet at the same time the high notes threw in a hopeful tone that made the piece sound quite nice overall, and although your father may not have 'wanted' such a tribute, i'm sure he would've been very impressed to hear such emotion in a musical piece like this. great job.
