Nostalgic.
I watched this on YouTube back in the day as a kid and remember balling at the funeral scene when Peach drops the Fire Flower on to the lowering coffin. The series was super well made for the time and parts of it still hold up. Rewatching it here was great, but I also found out through the comments that the creator had passed in 2012.
RIP Randy Solem. Thank you for making The Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom-series and being part of my childhood. Your animations gave me great joy as a kid, and still do now.
Now this was deep.
Checking out part 2 now.
What a masterpiece for it's time. Sure, the animation aged, but it was more than just that. It also has an emotional story from a time when I don't think it was usual in Flash animation.
