Pervert is the beaked guy, the kid is the little one. Beaked guy steals kid, and abuses him. Some random person does something about it, and he recovers. But sadly, because of the abuse, the kid turns into a petifile too. Look into phsycological cases for more info on it.

What I sorta got out of this is that if you help kids, you can save them from suicide? The long beaked person, wore a mask (or maybe it was its face) that is usually associated with death.
