I guess I can see how it may have been rushed a little because some of the highlights and whatnot are just scribbled in but I think it still looks good and it was a pretty cool idea. A phrase that may or may not help you out in the world of art, "I meant to do that".
Its not only the coloring, the picture also looks rather dull and empty, I didnt put enough things in the surrounding to make it look like it was in 1935.

The composition seems a bit disheveled as the bullets appear to be in direct contact with his back.
Almost as if you forgot to paint in the bloody splatters from his bullet wounds.
Still.....this is just a minor observation. I don't mean to insult.
The rest of the composition and re-vision of characters is great!
Nene's a beauty but watch out for Herpes!
