Ralf Sweeney (or Blaive, Ralph, Ralphie etc) stopped doing animation in late 2009.. by that time he was already starting to give up animating. And yes, I am the same Jasonism mentioned in "His Pride 2.0" but figured ten years is a good enough time for things to cool off.
AT THE TIME, Ralf was near completion of His Pride and I was regularly watching the progress of it over NetMeeting, and he was afraid it would not have as much success as he wanted. And so after some thought he decided to have a friend act as "an asshole" to pretty much chop the movie down with ridiculous claims and Ralf would be the white knight and everyone would say, "What a swell guy!"
But granted this was in early 2003, and Newgrounds took just fine to stick films. I repeatedly asked Ralf to remove the fake chat log and to remove my review but he'd just giggle like a schoolgirl (if you were a friend of his you'd know how strange he acted!) and change the subject.
Anyway, fast forward a few years and its 2006, I've got my own things going on and Ralf does as well, so contact between us begins to dwindle and fade because he constantly changed e-mails for messengers. But over those next few years we still talked and joked, but never talked much about animation.
The last time I saw an animation from Ralf was in 2009 and it was a short fight scene from Raid, the project he never got to finish. Not long after that I lost contact with him and haven't been able to get in touch with him since..
But things certainly can change when you are married, have two jobs and a child. I wish you all of the best luck Ralf, I really do wish we could catch up on old times one of these days.
