WE BECOME WHAT WE BEHOLD
a game about news cycles, vicious cycles, infinite cycles

Wow, it's been eight years since I published :the game: right here, on Newgrounds! I'm never gonna make a direct sequel to that -- I think I ended that series on a good enough note -- but here you go, a short spiritual sequel to :the game:! A game with a message, dark humor, and silly hopping lil' peeps.

Thank you so much for playing! <3

This was made by the same guy as THE GAME and Coming out sim

Nice game dude, I really feel the message it's conveying, even if it's outdated.

Well the basic concept was interesting, but you completely lost me at "Give the audience what they want".

Games that try to make you feel bad for being a monster while also giving you no alternatives to being a monster aren't 'artsy' or 'insightful'... They're lazy, retelling the same message that a thousand other things have said a hundred other ways.

Yes, media can incite violence and aggression, but it can also incite acceptance, love, compassion. All things that the game actively displays, punishes you for showing, and worst of all, stagnates the progress of the story.

A better way to have made this game would be to program a system in which positive news could still be portrayed and advance the story, but winds up sending the media company out of business due to lower ratings. You still get your message across that "the world is bad, media sucks, etc." without forcing the player to be a monster for the sake of your "art".
