Brexit: the video game

Share Collapse

Author Comments

With the anti-EU Front National on the rise in France and anti-refugee sentiment sweeping the continent, the European Union could collapse if the British are allowed to exit the EU gracefully and painlessly. You play the European Union, and you must find a way to keep the UK in the EU. Levy tariffs on Jaguars, kick pensioners out of Spain, organize demonstrations, hack the Prime Minister’s iPhone, back Scottish independence. Everything is on the table.

I strongly suggest you use a different game engine for making games.
I've seen your games use this to do a number of "different" games, but they are starting to all feel "the same".

Every time I encounter this engine, my reaction is the same:
Very primitive game engine.

Can it be played? Yes.
Does it have needlessly high learning curve? Yes

Have I played enough of your games to avoid them in the future?
Resounding yes.

That being said: the game is not "terrible", just that I've had "enough" of this engine.
I think you've gone back to this well too many times.

I do wish you future success, but if I never see this game engine again: I wouldn't miss it.

it needs more detailed

The game shows promise, but there are some odd things about it. For starters, there are a few regions that are impossible to control. Also, why have 8 movement for all the mobile units when with this value they can simply move to wherever they want to be? Are there plans to add other units with different movement value? Do you plan on adding more features at all? The feeling of incompleteness is what prevents me from rating it more.

BTW, this would make a pretty good board game (except for the part in which only the opponent can control The North and Midlands and if you convert T>G the opponent can't control London). When polished, you could try making it. As it is, I have half a mind to print and play it.

africacrossgames responds:

Thanks for the great feedback Nirnel! You are exactly right, future games using this engine will feature units that can only move 1 or 2 regions.

Even the name is amusing! X3

The game is a bit confusing for me (I'm more into "quick action games") but this is a nice idea... Kinda funny, but nice too

africacrossgames responds:

Thanks! Out of curiosity, what was the most confusing part of the game?

Well-made, humorous game. Shame there's no self-destruct option, though.
