Epic Boss Encounter

A warrior walks through the desert in search of the stone temple, but he must first face the temple's stone guardian.

I just finished my first frame by frame animation. I was in the middle of this animation when I stopped to quickly make "Newgrounds is down"

This looks pretty good, to be quite honest! I am hoping you would make the full battle,
but anyway, maybe better music sync?
If you sync it better, it will look even better ;)
(You know what I mean)

Jcrown41 responds:

Thanks. I might try but I think a fight scene is well beyond my capablility
and thanks for the advice. I am already getting ideas on how I will improve the music sync.

Really good animation. I think i have a little of your style. i mean the way we draw, you are a lot better drawing and animating. I JUST have one question.... How do you do the intro when the JOSEPH name are writing animating?? sorry about my bad english spelling.

Jcrown41 responds:

haha, don't worry about your spelling mate. it looks spot on to me

There are several ways to create it but I made mine using flash. If you go to youtube and search "self writing text" you will find a bunch of useful tutorials that show you how to do it.

I think you should sync the scene transitions with the music a bit more. there is a really obvious down beat in the song, and most of the transitions happen either right before or right after it. having the scene transition on the down beat will make the animation and music much more cohesive. There were also a few blips in the music that you might want to address, for example, the music skips around 40-41 seconds. also check the timing for a few of the scenes, as the sword shining scene seemed far too long and broke the flow a bit. check out how other animations/movies treat those sorts of scenes for reference.

overall, though, not bad for a first animation! interesting in seeing what else you'll come up with in the future!

Jcrown41 responds:

Thanks alot for the useful tips and advice. I definitely have a lot to keep in mind for my next animation.

Very well done - did you do this flash or toon boom?

Jcrown41 responds:

Thanks alot!
