This is a classic shoot-em up produced for Music Video Game Jam. The game lasts the whole song. The score resets if you die.

The special attack lets you capture enemies when they are low on health.

Arrow keys: Move
Space: Attack / Hold to charge

UPDATE: Went through a round of bug fixing. Hopefully the medals should be accessible now.

The medals for finishing the game as various other creatures don't seem to work unless you played the game on hard. If this is intentional you should say this.

After the song finishes and the enemies have disappeared you have to wait around 20 minutes for the remaining background to excruciatingly slowly scroll by before the stage clears, at least on high quality. Absolutely ridiculous wait!

The wait is somewhat reduced on low quality but ironically is best reduced on medium quality but it's still a good 5 minutes wait after everything's disappeared.

There is one medal which doesn't seem possible to obtain unless the background scrolls by fast enough, which it doesn't, even in medium quality (the best and fastest background scrolling option). Because it is one exact specific enemy which only appears once, never appears if it's on high quality, is barely there for a blip of a second on low quality, and is there extremely briefly (just enough to get in a few hits) on medium quality.

Presumably one is supposed to have enough time to take this enemy down to low health then devour it, but how it actually plays is the enemy disappears too fast and the background scrolls too slowly. Possibly it must be done on a machine with ridiculously beefy hardware.

Would have been a 3 stars game (average but decent game) but those flaws take it down to 1 star (needs huge amounts of reworking).

A challenging shoot-em up game. I did not care for the song, I actually played the game on mute.

The medals work, and I earned them all.

There's obviously some sort of story here, but I'm still oblivious as to what it is after two full playthroughs. The wait in the middle of the game is too long and out of place (as a matter of fact, I wrote this while waiting for the pause to be over).

Capturing and becoming enemies is an interesting mechanic, but making your special "cloning attack" and "charge attack" operate on the same charge bar was a bad design choice - it's awkward to time properly. It would have better served the game to have the charge attack and special attack mapped to different buttons. All in all, not too bad for something made in just a few days.

This is a bad game and you should feel bad. This is why.
First, the ending literally doesn't exist. There's just the song ends, you turn black, and then nothing. No replay without reloading the game, nothing like that, just keep swimming. It needs an in-game replay button, because no way am I reloading the whole page.
Second, the charge system in this game is a terrible terrible idea. A mechanic to capture enemies and take their abilities sounds neat in theory, but this implementation is just plain bad. The fact that I can partially-charge my shots to fire a bunch at once is neat, except that if I hesitate a fraction of a second too long, it turns into a crappy short-range attack that only works on enemies that are one hit from dying anyway. And if I want to actually capture them, I have to get so close that if they shoot once, me and my one hit point are dead. If you want to implement this and have it actually work, make shoot/charge be one button, make the special attack be a different button, and make the fully-charged attack just shoot a bunch of blasts, same as a partially-charged blast does now.
Third is that dying doesn't actually matter. Okay, sure, I lose points, but so what? I only even see my point total for a short time, so who cares?

Interesting mechanic, difficult, but kind of intriguing. Are guys riding "hovercars" or whatever, are they inspired by the vehicle from Low G Man? Kinda cool even if they aren't. ;)
