Tainted Olive can best be described as a blend of comics, fantasy novels and good old-fashioned puzzle solving. It is an ongoing story through a dark fantasy world that gets more fleshed out with each chapter.

After Silvian managed to leave Parentium, he headed to Dua Castros in order to find out what happened for the shipments of olives and metal to stop. But before he can get to the city, he must traverse Kontiya - or as known among townsfolk, the Woods of Unrest.

This is the second chapter of Silvian's story, which will feature six chapters in all. Chapter Two is essentially a fast-paced escape through the forest and the mountain, which nevertheless manages to flesh out more of the world and expand the backstory of both Silvian and the characters around him.

SOME HINTS for puzzles:
- in the maze, please notice you can use the gem when on the map. It's quite a useful feature. Also, there are some landmarks which will help you orient yourself.

- the lockpicking puzzle is not as hard as it seems. Just take a very, very good look around the room you're in.

Happy playing!

P.S. HIGHLY recommended playing Chapter 1 first.

I was worried this second chapter would never come around, I am so glad it did though! I loved the first so much! While the art may not be the best, the story is pure gold. I caught it on JayisGames some time ago when it was first uploaded. I've only recently started leaving reviews for games on Newgrounds, so that the game creators can at least see my feedback.

I will say, your story writing skills are phenomenal! It may be a wordy game, but it's worth every sentence. The characters, the descriptions...You really make them come alive. The comic feel is certainly unique, I've only come across a few other games that use the interactive comic style (either entirely or partially). I really do hope you are working on the third chapter. I'm sure with all the heavy writing involved with each game it takes time, but please don't give up! You have something wonderful here, and I hope to see it to the end!

The story line, animation, and puzzles were really good (except the frikkin' padlock puzzle). Chapter 2 was even more rich in detail than Chapter 1. I really look forward to Chapter 3!

Glad you liked it!

I have to admit the padlock puzzle could have been a little easier. We plan to simplify it a little (with a patch) at the same time Chapter 3 is released.

Beautiful art, compelling story. The puzzles are challenging, but not impossible. Very much looking forward to Chapter 3. Thank you for all your hard work and effort!

All of the minipuzzles are COMPLETELY LOGICAL - the maze, the code, the lock... but doesn't mean they are easy ;-) This is the best possible combination, so bravo!

Minor spoiler: I love the way that when your character perspective shifts, you start noticing different things even when you're in a location that you've been in before. That was a really nice touch.

Very good storyline/plot/character development continues. No let-up in the quality of the graphics, though the music could do with more scene-by-scene variety perhaps.

BlackOlive responds:

We will try to add variety to music next time. Though I personally am satisfied, a lot of people keep asking for a more extensive choice of music - to the point where we might have a really huge game size from now on :)
