interview hunt

A doodle game I made while learning to work with flash and thought to share it. I am planning to use what I know so far to make a proper full game.

How to play: Click on items in the room to steal it, but don't let the interviewer catch you doing so.

A simple, very addicting game! FINALLY got everything after an hour of playing.

Pros: drawing style is easy on the eyes. Simple concept, but challenging. A different kind of game.

Cons: Having to click twice to retry. Too much clicking in general, and you have to be very accurate with the items you're trying to steal. You can lose the game from the outset if you click too fast.

Suggestions for the short-term: allow the player to press a key to restart instead of having to click to go back to the title screen, then click again to restart the game. If possible, mouseover instead of click would make things easier on players' hands, though perhaps this would detract from the challenge. Alternatively, widen the click box for some of the smaller items. Finally, set it so that the interviewer's eyes are closed as of the very start of the game. As it is, you can click the start button and, if you click again too fast, you can wind up trying to steal something and you'll be caught immediately.

Suggestions for the long-term (if you decide to add to the game): some more obvious visual or auditory indications of where the interviewer's attention is at a given time. The character is staring right at him, but the player obviously can't. Other than that, just general growth of the game, e.g. more levels (I suggest at least three additional levels: one that's easier than this one, and two that are harder); perhaps some minigames, like selling the goods you swiped, or sneaking them past security; things of that nature.

Thanks for playing and congrats on actually stolen everything (did not expected someone to do it, really glad that you did).

I will keep in mind your suggestions for the next time I'm going to make another one.

Thank again for playing and the critique.

the game is fairly addictive..... along the game my brain keep shouting "STEAL EVERYTHING!!!"
but the game became a bit dull when one get the hang of the game. but still love those ending XD some of them made me laugh so badly

A pretty creative idea! Fun and catchy catching game. :P

well done

The coding is good, the game play very responsive with no lag. I like the concept and the contemporary social message, too. I don't mind the simple, hand-drawn graphics -the immersive game play was engaging enough so that I didn't really notice.
I like it. If you've a mind to do other games, I'd welcome the chance to try them. :)

byangGW responds:

Thank you, I am really glad to hear about the coding, since I'm on a learning stage of flash. In the future I might make another one upgraded with more game-play. Already making another game right now, will keep making and trying other genre.
